This is Richland County CEO member Xander Holtz with your weekly recap! We kicked off the week by taking our BIM quiz to better know our board members, inventors, and mentors. Molly also read a chapter from the book Things You Wish You Knew Yesterday by Craig Lindvahl, titled “Be Careful How You Magnify.” The key takeaway was the importance of shifting our mindset, focusing less on negative thoughts and instead approaching challenges with a positive perspective. Throughout the week, we continued phase two of our micro businesses, where we take $100 and turn it into a minimum of $1,000 in ten days. We also had the incredible opportunity to tour not one, but two local businesses: the IECC District Office with Sonja Wease, and Illini Wire with Chris Foust and Jennifer Chaplin.
To wrap up the week, we cleaned up our office, and I hosted our Team Builder activity, the Paper Airplane Challenge, which helped us strengthen our teamwork and idea-development skills. It’s safe to say CEO had another fantastic week!
