This is Richland County CEO member Ryen Gray, with this week’s recap! We started off our week on Monday by recognizing some of our “Quote to Notes” from all of our wonderful tours throughout the month of October. We then continued our reading of The Things You Wish You Knew Yesterday. Annie read the chapter called “Everything Has Value,” which focused on how we sometimes find advice irrelevant in the moment and completely shut it down. It taught us that every piece of information has value, even if we don’t realize it at the time. We then finished off the day with “Sticky Note Showdown,” a useful activity that helped us narrow down our class business ideas. On Tuesday, we had the opportunity to tour Infiniti Strength and Performance. We got to hear from Wes and Madison Smith as they shared how they got started at Infiniti and how their business has grown. We also got to learn more about the gym and everything it has to offer. On Wednesday, we started off with our team builder for the week called “Tall Tower.” This activity taught us how important communication and patience are when working through complicated situations. We then closed out the day by finalizing our class business and assigning officer positions. The rest of the week was spent preparing our class business proposal. Overall, this week was productive as we continued to learn from local businesses and take the next steps toward launching our class business.
