This is Richland County CEO member, Blair Grove, with this week’s recap! We started off our week on Monday by continuing our reading of The Things You Wish You Knew Yesterday. Sheri read us the chapter titled “The Buckeye,” which focused on dreaming big, setting goals, and taking steps toward achieving them. On Tuesday, we heard from Jaclyn Shan and Tonia Inskeep from Kemper CPA Group. They shared the history of the business and talked about the services they provide. We had the opportunity to learn more about their company and the work they do. Wednesday, we toured Bartley Zuber Attorney at Law. Bart shared his career journey, from his education to building his own law practice and eventually returning to Olney. We enjoyed hearing about his experiences and learning more about what goes into running his own business. On Friday, CEO members Ryen, Jack, Annie, and Zofia visited CEO Jr. They led the students in a team-building activity called the Cup Stack Relay, which focused on communication and teamwork. They also helped the students create SMART goals within their groups for their CEO Jr. businesses. Throughout the week, our class also began discussing ideas for our class business. We explored the differences between starting a service-based business, selling a product, or putting on an event. We discussed the benefits of each as we begin deciding what direction we want to take as a class. Overall, we had a successful week.
